Complementary Anti-Cancer In-Vitro Screening Models

Pharmaseed provides a battery of complementary models that enables the screening and evaluation of compounds in an ex-vivo and in-vitro environment. These tools are time and cost-effective and can provide specific answers to inquires while keeping the experiment simple and precise.

 

Ex-Ovo Computerized HET-CAM Assay

The HET CAM model is an ex vivo model for angiogenesis and anti-angiogenesis evaluation within days.
Anti-Cancer research

On day 3 of development, a fertilized egg was carefully opened over a tissue culture Petri dish. On day 5 an anti-angiogenic agent was applied onto the CAM using O-ring. Scoring of angiogenesis was carried out on day 12.

Graphical representation demonstrates the rate of angiogenesis (increase of blood vessels formation in the treated region) relative to a control group.

 

Cell Line Screening

Pharmaseed provides the ability to screen compounds  for potential anticancer activity. The operation of this screen utilizes different human tumor cell lines, representing leukemia, melanoma and cancers such as lung, colon, brain, ovary, breast, prostate, and kidney. The aim is to prioritize for further evaluation synthetic compounds or natural product samples showing selective growth inhibition or cell killing of particular tumor cell lines. The process enables the screening of a large number of candidates in a time a cost-effective manner.

Anti-Cancer research

Cells were seeded and incubated for 24. On day 2, cells were treated with different concentrations of cisplatin.

Cell viability is examined by MTT assay.

 

Endothelial Tube Formation assay

 

HUVEC-C cells were incubated at 37C and tube formation was observed for a period of 20h. Medium with and without Endothelial Cell Growth Supplement (ECGS) was used as positive control or negative control respectively.
